I miss Miss Ruby :(

So Miss Ruby is not staying with me right now and I miss her terribly. She is staying with my parents so I can hit the books. Well it's not working out. I should be studying right now for my Autism mid-term tomorrow or studying for comps, but instead I'm thinking about my sweet Ruby-Bean. Yes she has many names - Ruby Bean, Ruby Soho, Ruby Shoes, Ruby Tuesday, Rubik's Cube, Roobs and so on. Luckily she answers to them all. Such a smart little one. Many of her names were inspired by songs. So in order to not study I've looked up all the amazing songs that have something to do with Ruby and there are some amazing ones! You should look them up....enjoy...and think of sweet Ruby.

  • Ruby by Kaiser Chiefs
  • Ruby Tuesday by The Rolling Stones (My favorite)
  • Ruby, Don't Take Your Love To Town by The Killers (I like their version best)
  • Ruby SoHo by Rancid
  • Ruby Falls by Guster (Love this one)
  • Thru the Eyes of Ruby by The Smashing Pumpkins
  • Ain't Love Somethin' by Sam & Ruby
  • Ruby by Ray Charles

I know what you're thinking and yes, I am that obsessed with my dog. How could you not be with a face like this?!?

A Truly Oklahoman Event

So I said I wanted to start doing something truly unique to Oklahoma every weekend and what better way to start it off than going to a bull riding show! We went to the PBR show in Oklahoma City last night and it was one of the funnest nights I've had. I absolutely loved everything about it...well other than the smell. I could have done without that. My friend Christie, who I will be moving to Chicago with, went with me and this was her very first time. I was actually quite surprised at how much I knew about bull riding! I have to give credit where credit is due though - my best girl friends from college gave me a lengthy tutorial this past Christmas when we watched the PBR Championship in Las Vegas.

Afterwards we went out and stumbled upon the same bar as all the riders so of course we had to stay and mingle! I mean wouldn't you? I'm a sucker for a guy that has manners and calls me sweetheart :) Before we knew it we were informing all of them of the importance of helmets. We didn't want them to get a TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) and then need us to treat them. I know what you're thinking and yes, we are a blast to go out with! Well our little chat with them must have worked because the very next night a few of them were wearing helmets. Mission Accomplished!!!

Weekend 1: Bull Riding Competition
Outcome: Best. Night. Ever.

For my Mother - The Fabulous Rebecca Jane Gribben

So why did I decide to start blogging? It is for my mother. I informed her a few months back that I had decided to move from the great state (and I truly mean that) of OKLAHOMA and venture into the exciting new and crazy world of Chicago. Needless to say she was less than pumped. Understandable of course and I know I will understand even more once I become a mother myself. So what better way to keep in touch in the 21st century than to blog? Yeah I thought it was a no-brainer as well. Who knows maybe one day we'll all be blessed by a blog by the greatest mother herself...but I wouldn't count on it.

So this blog is dedicated to her because she is my rock and my best friend. I love you mom!

Here's to you mom - Cheers!
